Follicular unit extraction (FUE) is a new hair restoration technique which has gained significant popularity in the past 5 years. FUE involves harvesting individual follicular units with a tiny punch. FUE allows for harvesting of hair without an incision; therefore, there are no sutures with this method. FUE has very little downtime and an easier recovery compared to strip technique. Using FUE makes it easier to shave your hair in the future without seeing evidence of previous transplantation.
During your consultation with Dr. Neal Goldman, both the Strip and the FUE technique will be discussed so you can decide which method is best for your individual situation.

The donor site is shaved before follicles are harvested by FUE, so we recommend growing your hair a litlte longer to cover the area that is shaved.
