Everyone loses hair.  It is common for people to lose up to a 100 hairs a day.  However, millions of people suffer from thinning hair or baldness.  We often think about men when we think of hair loss, but statistically 1 in 5 women will have significant hair loss at some point in their life as well.

With all the ads that we see daily about hair loss treatment, it is potentially easy to be misled. You can understand that each business is trying to push their products, but which ones actually work and which ones are a waste of money? Be careful of devices, equipment, and topical non-tested formulations that have not withstood the test of time or scientific testing.

There are some FDA approved drugs which have been tested and have been shown to have some affect of at least slowing down hair loss and possibly spawning regrowth in certain areas. These treatments and drugs may not be able to provide as much hair in the places our patients want. These treatments may also be very expensive over time.
